There's a lot of information about what this pause is and what it means. Here is a FAQ.

WAIT, WHAT IS GOING ON?
Favor is going on pause for Spring 2025. I'm calling this my "Study Abroad" and I won't be working at all. Instead, I'll be taking online college courses and studying German in Vienna, Austria for three months.
WHY NOW?
- I dropped out of college to run Favor full-time 15 years ago. I'm so glad I did it that way, but it also means I never earned my degree
- I'm back in school now to finish my degree before deciding if I'd like to go to grad school
- I always wanted to do a study abroad, but it wasn't feasible for me when I was in school the first time around
- All of my classes are online right now, so I am cobbling together my own study abroad
- My plan is to take my college courses remotely while also taking local language classes and immersing myself in the culture of Vienna, Austria
WHY VIENNA?
- I have some family there that I'd like to know better, including my Oma
- I speak some German and have always wanted to study a language abroad
- Vienna is a beautiful city with a lot of things I love, namely good coffee, excellent pastries, and amazing museums
BUT DON'T YOU MAKE JEWELRY? WHY ARE YOU IN SCHOOL?
- This is a hard truth: this is a really tough time to run a business. Probably any business, but particularly a small, handmade business
- It's depressing whenever I open Instagram or check my emails to see my longtime wholesale partners closing their doors and my peers closing their businesses
- I haven't had any business wins in a while and it's been demoralizing. I had some great years there, but the last several have been a slog
- I'm burnt out and need a break
- But Favor is my baby and it's hard to imagine a future for myself without it
- I have been running Favor as my fulltime job since I was 21. In fact, I had the name when I was 19 and started selling on Etsy in 2007!
- I haven't been an employee since I was 21 and I quit my job working in a bead store
- I've never seriously considered another career path before now
- I'm calling this my "trial separation" from Favor
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
- Orders will be closed between March 13th and July 1st
- Returns and exchanges won't be processed between March 11th and July 1st
- If you'd like to return or exchange anything, get it in the mail by March 3rd!
- All returns and exchange windows have been increased to 6 months so you'll be able to swap things out once I return
WHOLESALE CUSTOMERS
- The last day to place a wholesale order is February 26th
- Orders placed after February 26th will ship in July
WHAT COMES NEXT
- I will be checking and responding to emails periodically while I'm gone
- I'd like to say I'll keep in touch on socials while I'm gone, but this is also a trial separation. I've been so burnt out that having any expectation to work might be too much, even if it's just posting pictures of pretty buildings and Sachertorte. We'll see.
-
I will be back in July. I can't promise I'll be active on social, but Favor will be running and I'll be making things and you'll be able to order jewelry
- I am really grateful for everyone's support. When I started Favor (nearly 15 years ago!), one of my dreams was to be able to live in Europe for a while and then have Favor support me during grad school. I am really glad I have the ability to accomplish these lifelong dreams. It's only possible because of my customers and fans. ILYSM
