✨Quick link: Need your size now? Get our printable ring sizer and measure at home in minutes.
So, you’ve fallen in love with a ring (maybe one of ours 😉), and now comes the question: what’s my ring size? If that thought fills you with dread, you’re not alone. Ring sizing can feel tricky and frustrating, but it doesn’t have to be. At Favor, I want you to feel confident ordering jewelry you’ll love and actually wear—not something that sits in a drawer because it doesn't fit quite right.
Whether you prefer the precision of a jeweler or the convenience of a printable chart, here’s everything you need to know to find your perfect fit.
The Most Accurate Way: Visit a Jeweler
Let’s start with the gold standard: going to a jeweler. Any jewelry store—whether it’s your local independent shop or a kiosk at the mall—will have sizing rings for you to try. This is hands-down the most accurate method because you can actually feel how different sizes fit.
One quick Favor-specific tip: when measuring, make sure you’re trying on the thinnest sizing band available (usually around 2mm). Wider bands fit differently—they feel snugger—so if you size with a wide band, you’ll want to size down slightly to get the correct measurement for a delicate Favor ring.
DIY Options: Printable Sizers & Apps
If heading to a jeweler isn’t in the cards, don’t worry—I’ve got you. I made a printable ring sizing guide that you can use at home. Just make sure you print it true to size and double-check the measurement line at the top to confirm accuracy (printers can be sneaky).
There are also apps that claim to measure ring sizes by placing a ring on your phone screen. I’ll be honest: I haven’t tested them myself, and I don’t have any affiliations. Personally, I think a jeweler or my printable guide is more reliable—but hey, if you like to experiment, they’re out there!
The Favor Guarantee: Free Exchanges
Even with the best intentions, sometimes the size just isn’t quite right. That’s okay! Favor offers a one-time free ring exchange if your ring doesn’t fit. You have 60 days from receiving it to pop it in the mail using our prepaid return label. Just include a note with your new size, and I’ll send you the perfect fit.
Some Ring Sizing Tips
Over the years, I’ve picked up a few tricks that make ring sizing a little easier.
- The Fling Test: Put on the ring and give your hand an aggressive shake in the air. If it flies off? Definitely size down. If it wiggles but stays put (especially if you have bigger knuckles), you’re good.
- Check Both Hands: Did you know your dominant hand can be up to a full size larger? Measure both—you might be surprised.
- Write It Down: Keep a note on your phone or a little card in your jewelry box with your ring sizes. Future you will thank you.
For Wider Knuckles
If you have larger knuckles compared to your finger base, sizing can be tricky. You want a ring that can slide over your knuckle but doesn’t spin around once it’s on. In these cases, a quarter size (yes, I can make those!) can be a game-changer. Just let me know by replying to your order confirmation email or by sending me an email at hello@favorjewelry.com.
All About Favor Rings
A quick note about how my rings are made: Favor rings are generally around 1mm wide—delicate, fine, and perfect for stacking. I make them all true to size, so if you order a 7, you’ll receive a true size 7 (no weird conversions or adjustments needed). That goes for our specialty rings too, like anxiety rings with moving parts.
We offer half sizes from size 4 up to size 14, which covers 99.9% of folks. But if you need smaller, larger, or a quarter size? Just let me know by replying to your order confirmation email or by sending me an email at hello@favorjewelry.com.
Let’s Talk About Hands
Here’s something I’ve noticed over the years: people can be so hard on themselves when it comes to their hands. My 14-year-old niece once told me she had “sausage fingers.” Customers tell me all the time they don’t wear rings because they think their hands are “too big” or “manly.”
Here’s the truth: beautiful, well-fitting rings draw attention to themselves. No one is thinking about the size of your hands—they’re admiring your jewelry (and how good you look in it). We are always our own worst critics, but you deserve to feel beautiful. Period.
Choosing Your Ring Size: The Bottom Line
- For the most accurate fit, visit a jeweler and size with the thinnest band.
- At-home methods like printable sizers work well—just double-check accuracy.
- Favor rings are true to size, delicate, and made for stacking.
- Free exchanges mean you don’t have to stress.
- Don’t forget: write down your sizes and measure both hands!
Whether you’re building your first jewelry collection or adding a new favorite, the right fit makes all the difference. Rings are meant to be worn, loved, and lived in—not tucked away because they don’t feel quite right.
So, go forth and measure! And remember, you’re never alone in this—I’m here to make sure your ring fits just right, every time.
